Planning
The planning section of the task was by far the hardest but it really put things into perspective and gave us a bit of insight to what we would be doing in the coming weeks. We went to possible locations and had the owners fill out a location release just in case we wanted to use the location; It just gives us options if we need to change anything. We went to the fish and chip shop and discussed filming with them, all went well. We have a location for the final scenes of the short and we will be using Sam Read's house for the montage shots and the "Locked out" shots too.
Filming
We got off to a bit of a shaky start in that we didn't really know where to begin at all, we started from the outside scenes (Car scene) because the Detention Room we wanted was occupied by another group. Rose Newman came to the rescue and offered her car for use and we were able to get a big chunk of filming done and we could always go back for more if we need it. We started filming the exam scenes and we had Courtney Pearson acting as SARAH and hopefully that is another chunk of filming that we have filmed and uploaded.
A bit of downtime isn't too good, especially when we've run into some trouble. Our talent for SARAH is unable to film on the most important days. Looks like we're going to have to reshoot the detention scene already as our SARAH can no longer film and we'll have to find someone else.
In the meantime we filmed the chip shop scene and got that chunk out of the way which is nice.
After a nightmare week, Rose came to the rescue again and became our SARAH, before filming the shots with Rose, we had a night shoot and filmed that "Locked Out" Scene and also managed to get the montage done. Then we filmed the final 'Romantic Scenes' and that concludes the filming section.
Alex helped us film a lot :)
Editing
Editing is fairly simple as we are editing the piece as we go along, the only thing that will take some time is finding some fitting music and then cleaning up every thing and making it sharp. We plunged straight in and edited after every shoot to ensure that we had all the time in the world to clean up if we needed to - Editing involved people taking the project home and editing their section.
