1. What do the numbers 16:9 refer to? 16:9 is an aspect ratio; 16 being width, 9 being height
2. What is the frame size of a 1080p video file? 1920x1080; widthxheight
3. If you have a video file which is 720:50p what is the frame rate and what does the p stand for? 50 frames per second and a progressive scan.
4. What is the difference between p and i? progressive refreshes all of the pixels in the frame and interlaced only refreshes half.
5. What frame rate is real film shot at? 23.976 frames per second
6. What might be the advantage of shooting at a higher frame rate? slow motion, smooth movement and lack of blur
7. What defines a lossy file? lossy loses all non important data to make the file size smaller
8. Name three file types commonly used in video editing. .mts .avi .mov
9. What is the difference between a video file type and a codec? a file type is what data is read and a codec is how the data is written and stored
10. What is bitrate?  the number of bits per second that can be transmitted along a digital network.
